Make the feathers spread out and go across. You can also add feathers sticking out at the end of each row for a unique look. They don't have to be the same size. Make them as big or as small as you want!!!
It's okay if you mess up its not the end of the world.
You can change the color of the wings into blue for white backgrounds to make your wings stand out.
It's easier when you create it in Adobe Illustrator.
If your wing looks out of proportion change the size of your feathers.
